Soul Survivor Outdoor, San Diego
Soul Survivor Outdoor (SSO) was founded in 2014 to serve active-duty U.S. service members through Christ-centered outdoor adventure. SSO provides a unique experience that supports the Department of Defense’s mission to ensure service members are mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially fit.
Through activities like rock climbing, skydiving, whitewater rafting and more, SSO points service members to the unshakable foundation found in Christ, as described in Luke 6:47-49. Our program regularly sees 30%, 50%, and even 100% of participants praying to receive Christ or recommitting their lives to Him.
Originally launched in California to serve U.S. Marines and sailors, SSO has expanded to include area directors in California, Colorado, Florida, Tennessee, and Texas, serving all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. Our outreach has impacted service members across 11 states and in Poland.
SSO exists to share the gospel with the next generation of military personnel—those actively defending our nation—regardless of their background, race, or beliefs. By reaching service members in a unique mission field, SSO delivers transformative experiences that equip them with the eternal hope and strength found in Jesus Christ.
